What you need to send a pre-job notice

Miss a local that has a claim on the project's county and it can pursue lost wages against the project. This map tells you which locals to contact and how. It does not decide jurisdiction: the union's constitution, the local's charter and the current agreement do that. Confirm by phone before you rely on a boundary.

How to use it

Look up the project address or county. You get one block per trade with the local to notify, or every local with a claim when the county is unresolved.
Read the status. Verified the local's own published jurisdiction or the union directory confirms it. Resolved the only candidate in the wage-determination data, corroborated by federal filings, not confirmed by the union. Likely - confirm one candidate stands out with nothing behind it. Guess - confirm a hall-location guess, used for Carpenters only. Unresolved - confirm more than one local may claim the county, so contact each one listed.
Copy what you need. Each local has a copy button. Each worksheet copies all of its contacts, the published emails for a BCC line, or spreadsheet rows. Add to notice list collects locals across lookups, de-duplicated, and copies or downloads the lot.
A missing email is missing. We never guess one. Most locals publish a hall phone and no email, so plan on calling.

Have this ready when you contact a local

What each local asks for varies by agreement, so confirm with the local. A notice normally carries:

Project name, street address and county
Owner, general contractor, and your contact person with phone and email
Scope of work by trade, and which subcontractor performs each trade
Anticipated start date and duration; approximate crew size at peak
Whether prevailing wage, a project labor agreement or another project agreement applies

Limits of this data

Iron Workers boundaries are the International's published polygons (maps.iwintl.org) and do not follow county lines. An address lookup resolves against the polygon. A county lookup lists every local whose polygon covers part of the county.
Carpenters are guesses. No Carpenters local publishes a territory and the wage data lists every local in every county, so we assign each county to the verified hall inside it, or the nearest one, and badge it Guess - confirm. Millwrights (Local 1076, Greenwood) are the one verified millwright local in the state's data and hold statewide jurisdiction on their craft's terms.
Every other trade is approximated to county lines, except where a local publishes a dividing line (Lake County, IN, Laborers: Cline Avenue). Address lookups resolve that split; county lookups cannot.
The map draws only resolved boundaries. An unresolved county is not drawn for that trade; it appears in the worksheet with its claimants. Each trade and craft is its own option in the layer list.
Every row shows the date its data was built. Contacts come from the local's or council's own site, and officers change between refreshes.
